The structure of urea-formaldehyde resin by content of methylol groups in urea-formaldehyde precondensates |
초록 |
Urea-formaldehyde(UF) resins lack in water resistance because of the susceptibility to hydrolysis. This need can be overcome by forming stronger network structure of UF resins. We reported the structure of cured UF resin by increasing formation of methylol groups with methylol reactive catalyst. The amount of unreated HCHO was determined by the titration of methyl-red and methylene-blue, and then we observed content of methylol groups in UF precondensates. After the curing reaction with change of methylol groups, the quantity of emitted formaldehyde absorbed by hydrolytic degradation in cured UF resin was discussed by the same titration method.
