제목 Preparation of cationic polyelectrolyte by dispersion polymerization
초록 In this work, the cationic polyacrylamides were synthesized by dispersion polymerization. Dispersion polymerization of acrylamide was carried out in aqueous ammonium sulfate media using diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride (DADMAC) as cationic co-monomer, poly(acryloyloxyethyl trimethylammonium chloride) (PAOTAC) and poly(metacryloyloxyethyl trimethylammonium chloride) (PMAOTAC) as polymeric stabilizer, and 2,2'-azobis(2-methyl propionamidine) dihydrochloride (AIBA) as the initiator in 30~55°C. The copolymers were controlled by varying the relative concentration of salt, initiator, and stabilizer. These cationic polyelectrolytes were characterized by viscosity of 2wt% aqueous solution and gel permeation chromatography(GPC). The size and distribution of dispersed particles were observed by image analyzer. The particle size of the polymer was 2~15㎛. Molecular weight of cationic polyelectrolytes were more than 2×10-6g/mol. Dispersion stability of resulting polyelectrolytes was excellent in 29 wt% of salt concentrations in the reaction medium.
