제목 | Preparation of cationic polyelectrolyte by dispersion polymerization (2) |
초록 | In this work, the cationic polyelectrolytes of high molecular weight were synthesized by dispersion polymerization. Dispersion polymerization of acrylamide was carried out in aqueous ammonium sulfate media using diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride (DADMAC) as cationic monomer, poly(acryloyloxyethyl trimethylammonium chloride) (PAOTAC) and poly(diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) as polymeric stabilizer. The polyelectrolytes were synthesized in 30~45°C using 2,2’-azobis(2-methyl propionamidine) dihydrochloride (AIBA) and 2,2’-azobis[2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl)propane] dihydrochloride (V-044) as initiator, the latter showed the higher molecular weight. In the resulting polymers, the polymerization state were significantly dependent upon the poly(ethyleneoxide) (PEO) concentration, These cationic polyelectrolytes were characterized by viscosity of 2% solution and GPC. The size and distribution of dispersed particles were observed by image analyzer. The particle size of the polymer was 2~15㎛ and the molecular weight was 9×10-6g/mol. |
