제목 Structure and Properties of Polymer/Clay Nanocomposites with Poly(vinyl alcohol )
초록 We studied the structure and properties of both poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) /Na+-montmorillonite (Na-MMT) nanocomposite and poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB)/Na-MMT nanocomposite. Solution intercalation method was adopted in this study and PVA nanocomposites were prepared at two different mixing temperatures of room temperature (C-type) and 95℃ (H-type). Casted films of nanocomposites were used in the characterizations. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed different results according to the preparation temperatures. H-type showed intercalation dominant structure, while C-type showed exfoliation dominant structures. Crystallinity obtained by a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), small angle light scattering (SALS) patterns of nanocomposite films and shear viscosity of Na-MMT suspension in the PVA solution were also different according to preparation methods. We further butyralized H-type solution to make PVB/Na-MMT nanocomposite and analysized it using various methods such as XRD and DSC.
