Functional particles have received extensive interests in the field of diagnostics, bioseparators, sensors, absorbents, capsules and enzyme carriers. In this study, micro monodisperse amine particles were prepared. Firstly, poly(N-vinylformamide) (PNVF) particles as a derivative were prepared by dispersion polymerization. And then, poly(vinylamine) (PVAm) particles were produced using hydrolysis process. The shape and morphology of PVAm particles were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and optical microscope (OM). Amine moiety is confirmed by confocal laser scattering microscope (CLSM) and Fourier-Transformation Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Amine contents of PVAm particles were measured by ninhydrin assay. In addition, swelling behavior of PVAm particle was investigated in the various pH. |
