제목 Preparation of TiO2-decorated α-Al2O3 colloidal dispersion for photo-stable lustering pigments
초록 Lustering effects of metal and metal oxides are utilized in various fields in the industry. In this work, two-dimensional α-Al2O3 nanoplates exhibiting excellent anisotropy was chosen as the template and TiO2 colloidal nanoparticles are used to envelop the α-Al2O3 nanoplates to increase the constructive reflectance. Sol-gel chemistry was chosen to synthesize TiO2 colloidal nanoparticles and the roughness and thickness of the TiO2 layer was controlled to produce lustering pigments of metallic gold color. To overcome the mechanical instability of the lustering pigments from TiO2 layer detachment, thermal annealing was conducted at various temperatures. The photo-stability of gold-colored lustering pigments was also demonstrated.
