Localized Surface Plasmon (LSPR) Sensor for Chloride Ion Detection in Discharge Water from Coalbed Methane (CBM) Production |
초록 |
Nobel metal nanoparticles have attracted a great deal of recent interest due to their unique optical properties as a result of localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPR). LSPR is a collective oscillation of the free electrons on a metal nanoparticle surface upon excitation by incident light. LSPR produces a strong optical extinction which can be tuned throughout the visible wavelengths for environmental applications. In addition, large field enhancements occur at the nanoparticle surface for applications in surface enhanced spectroscopies and enhanced photocurrent generation. The LSPR extinction peak is also very sensitive to the particles’ size, shape, dispersion state and dielectric environment. Particularly, gold bipyramids are nanoparticles with a penta-twinned crystal structure, which have a sharp LSPR because of their high monodispersity. In previous, the bipyramid substrates yielded higher sensitivity than nanorods and nanospheres. Here, we have investigated chloride ion detection in discharged water from coalbed methane (CBM) using bipyramid substrates. |
