제목 Colloid / polyelectrolyte Multilayer Nanocomposites for Antireflecting Surfaces
초록 Antireflection coatings (AR) are indispensable requirement for many optical applications. These optical coatings improve the light transmission by destructive interference of reflected light at the air-film and film-substrate interfaces. The ideal average refractive index of the coatings for glass and common polymeric substrates is about 1.2-1.3. And for broad-band AR coatings, we need a sequence of layers that have gradual change of refractive indicies. In this work, we attempted to design the AR coatings by depositing polymer colloids in sequence which have gradual size change. As the size of the colloids gradually changes through the layers, the coatings with gradual refractive indicies can be made. We used polystyrene colloids which have diameters of 30-100nm for the fabrication of the colloidal multilayers. And we improved adhesion between the colloidal layers by introducing polyelectrolyte multilayers as an additive. Various optical measurements were carried out including UV/Vis spectra and scanning electron microscopy. Detailed characteristics and optical properties of these structures will be discussed.
