Effects of Electrode Distance and Area on Electricity Generation in Microbial fuel cell |

Microbial fuel cell represent a new alternative energy technology for treating wastewater and simultaneously producing electricity.Performance of two-chambered microbial fuel cell was evaluated to treat actual wastewater and simultaneously produce electricity.The removal efficiency of COD and nitrogen was increased, and voltage was increased with the addition of acetate as an carbon source.Effect of distance between the electrodes and surface area of anode on electricity production was evaluated under variable external resistance. The maximum power density was observed at external resistance between 100Ω and 200Ω. |
