제목 Preparation of capsaicin-loaded nano- and micro-particles
초록 Capsaicin, the pungent component of hot peppers, is an effective pharmacological agent for a number of sensory nerve fiber disorders, including pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, because this compound performs animals resistant to painful stimuli. Briefly, capsaicin can bind with vanilloid receptor in the neuronal membrane and this complex leads the activation of non-selective cation channels to increase a conductance of cations. The high concentration of intracellular Ca++ desensitizes voltage-gated calcium channel for a long time, blocks neurotransmitter release and analgesia ensues. The aim of this work was to develop injectable capsaicin-loaded nano- and micro-particles for sustained release system. The drug-loaded particles were prepared by nano-precipitation and solvent evaporation method. The effects of the oil/water phase volume ratio and the type of polymers on the drug encapsulation efficiency and the release profile of capsaicin from carriers were investigated.
