cancer immunotherapy holds a possibility as a promising treatment for cancer. However, the cancer immunotherapy is difficult to applied in medical fields, due to the low stability and selectivity of therapeutic agents. Herein, we developed a self-assembled synthetic micellar immunomodulator for cancer therapy with cationic amphiphilic polymers (SASM). In particular, cationic polymer was conjugated with hydrophobic molecule to make them self-assembled in aqueous solution. Then the micelle was complexed via charge-charge interaction with anionic polysaccharide which recognize cancer cells. The cationic polymer induces immune response through necrosis due to cationic charge-induced cellular membrane damage. In short, the SASM accumulated into tumor sites into tumor regions after systemic administration into tumor-bearing mice, showing effective antitumoral effects without systemic toxicity. |
