Microporous carbons synthesized from biomass in the presence of potassium salts present a facile strategy to design high micropore content in the carbonaceous materials. Series of nitrogen-doped samples were prepared by changing the ratio of precursors. The optimized material possesses excellent textural features, narrow micropores and high micropore volume. Furthermore, at 273 K and 1 bar, excellent CO2 uptake was observed. Present work highlights the role of potassium salts activation to generate highly microporous carbons as efficient CO2 adsorbents. |
