Tactile sensors have recently received substantial attention in order to realize electronic skins. Electrically conductive polymer composites (ECPC) including conductive filler embedded in polymer matrix have researched extensively as an important materials sensing pressure, but in addition to pressure-sensing, different sensing properties are required to implement multi-functional electronic skins. MWNTs/Poly(dimethyl-siloxane)(PDMS) ECPC had good sensing capabilities as fiber-like CNT induced low percolation threshold and PDMS had proper elasticity. In this study, temperature dependent pressure sensor material was designed by introducing paraffin wax which melted at 53℃. Below m.p., WAX/MWNTs/PDMS composites had not pressure sensitivities at the range of tens of kilopascal, but above m.p., this composite was able to sense pressure at that ranges. The effects of introducing wax on binary composite were investigated by comparison with the single MWNTs/PDMS composite system. |
