The effect of etching process on the surface and cross-section of polypropylene(PP) blends has been studied. Cyclohexane was used for etching process to remove the rubber component of PP blends. sufficiently. Three different etching times are employed, followed water rinse using sonicator. The surface and cross-section morphology is observed using scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectroscope, respectively. Microscopy observations show that after etching, many holes are clearly observed on the cross-section of PP blends, indicating that the rubber particles are melt out during etching process. |
