Lanthanum oxide was prepared by various method, precipitation, direct calcinations of lanthanum nitrate and surfactant-assisted synthesis. The catalytic activity of these lanthanum oxides in the transesterification of dimethyl carbonate with glycerol to produce glycerol carbonate was investigated. The prepared catalysts were characterized by X-ray Diffraction, IR spectroscopy and Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) surface area |
