A Study on the Intermediate Particle Preparation for HTGR Nuclear Fuel |

Nowadays, the HTGR has spot-lighted to next generation nuclear power plant for clean hydrogen gas and electricity. The TRISO coated UO2 particles from the spherical UO2 kernel via UN solution is used for the HTGR nuclear fuel. The Sol-Gel process, in here, has been studied with aim of producing the UO2 kernel particles. In this study the spherical UO3 gel particles via UN solution, an intermediate, were prepared by the sol-gel process(including the internal and external gelation processes) with a vibrating system, and then the characteristics of these particles were analyzed by Steroscope, FT-IR, TG/DTA, and X-ray. |
