In order to improve the performance of the OPVs, in this study, we proposed new small molecular donor materials based on diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP). Our materials are configured on both ends of electron donating moiety and center of DPP. We studied on the photophysical and electrochemical properties of these materials with variation of electron donating groups at both ends and investigated and compared with 3,6-bis(5-(benzofuran-2-yl)thiophene-2-yl)-2,5-bis(2-ethylhexyl)pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione [DPP(TBFu)2]. As a result, one of our materials showed light absorption band in the region of 500-750 nm, which was slightly red-shifted compare to that of DPP(TBFu)2. Also, in the CV experiment, it was confirmed that bandgap and HOMO level of small molecular donor was 1.73 eV and 4.85 eV, respectively. We will discuss photovoltaic performance of our small molecular donors with combination of various fullerenyl acceptors in OPVs. |
