The efficiency of organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) was very limited due to short exciton diffusion length of organic semiconductors. To enhance charge transfer efficiency, the bulk hetero junction (BHJ) morphology was designed, however, it is difficult to control BHJ morphology in small molecular donor system. In the present study, we synthesized a highly crystalline donor, that is to say, benzophorpyrin precursor, which can form a well controlled columnar structure in nanoscale, and fabricated solution processed p-i-n structured OPVs with combination of various fullerene acceptors. Finally, 2% of power conversion efficiency can be obtained with 0.63 V of Voc, 6.38 mA/cm2 of Jsc, and 0.49 of fill factor. |
