Synthesis, Characterization and Field-Effect Transistors of Benzodithiophene based Polymer Semiconductors. |

The high-performance TFTs based on solution-processed polymer films, a high carrier mobility can be obtained by thermally annealing the films at an appropriate temperature, thus resulting in an increase in the degree of crystallinity and a highly developed edge-on orientation of the polymer chains. The use of high crystalline semiconducting conjugated polymers in TFTs has received much attention owing to the flexibility it offers in terms of molecular design and the method of synthesis. Here in we present the design, synthesis and characterization of benzodithiophene (BDT) based polymers for applications in TFTs. Electrochemical properties of the synthesized polymer can be tuned by replacing the acceptor in order to obtain better mobilities. In this report we demonstrate that, BDT based polymers are promising materials in organic semiconductors. |
