Abstract: A series of thiophene derivatives containing different lengths of carbon chains and thiol end group were designed and synthesized using 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene methanol (EDTM) as a precursor. The new derivatives were confirmed by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and gas chromatography mass spectroscopy (GC/MS). Self-assembled monolayers of the derivatives were prepared on gold electrode and then electropolymerized by cyclic voltammetry. The self-assembled conducting polymer films were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, SEM, and TEM. |
