Nanocellulose was prepared by acid hydrolysis and characterized. Cotton and alge fibers were used as natural fibers. The morphology, thermal properties, crystallinity, and functional groups of nanocellulose were analyzed by SEM, TEM, TGA, XRD, and FTIR. The yield percent of nanocellulosr was 30-60% depending on the acid hydrolysis conditions and the nanowhisker was main product of acid hydrolysis. The mechanical property of nanocellulose was examined by measuring the tensile strength of nanocellulose reinforced composites. |
