Synthesis of a fullerene derivative and formation of the striped pattern in cholesteric liquid crystalline medium |
초록 |
Fullerene reactive mesogen (C60RM) was newly designed and synthesized. Its chemical structure and purity were confirmed spectroscopy. Thermal and structural properties of C60RM were investigated by the combined techniques of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and 1-dimensional (1D) wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). Solubility of C60RM in common organic solvent is much better than that of the pristine fullerene. Furthermore, the self-assembled C60RM pattern was successfully fabricated in an elastically anisotropic cholesteric liquid crystalline medium.
