Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) have been used in protective films, die attach adhesive films, self-adhesive tapes, and polarizing films. UV crosslinkable PSAs were synthesized by the radical copolymerization of n-butylacrylate (BA), 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (EHA) or 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), and 4-benzoylphenyl methacrylate (BPM). The synthesized PSAs were applied to LCD polarizing films, and then cured by UV irradiation. The characteristics of the PSAs, such as peel strength, keying strength, creep resistance, and light leakage, were investigated according to the contents of HEMA and BPM units, and UV irradiation time. |
