A new fullerene derivative was synthesized through Tosylhydrazone route with fullerene and used as an electron acceptor material for P3HTbased bulk heterojunction solar cells.The new fullerene derivative was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy. Thermal, electrochemical properties and morphological analysis were measured through thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). P3HT-based bulkheterojunction photovoltaic devices were fabricated by using new fullerene derivative as the electron acceptor. The photovoltaic devices had a layered structure of ITO / PEDOT: PSS / P3HT: Acceptor / LiF / Al. The weight ratios between the P3HT and new fullerene derivative in active layer were 1: 0.5, 1: 0.7 and 1: 1. The devices performance of solar cells is determined by the open circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current density (Jsc), and fill factor (FF). |
