Pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are used in various forms for optical materials such as mobile phones, electronic devices etc. PSAs are viscoelastic materials that exhibit solid-like and liquid-like behavior so that their performance can be evaluated by tack (capability of PSA to adhere instantly under light pressure), peel strength (tension force required to remove PSA) and shear strength (flow resistance). PSAs can be peeled from the substrate without failure. Hence, expensive films comprising the display can be recycled cleanly even if a defect appears. Therefore, PSAs should have fluidity for the wetting and cohesion force for the peel resistance. These properties can be controlled by the monomer components and crosslinking density This is, PSAs have to show clearness, high refractive property and transmittance in the optical materials. The purpose of this study is to investigate the adhesion performance of the acrylic optical clear adhesives. |
