A Study on the Ethylene-to-Propylene over SSZ-13 Zeolites Converted from Y Zeolites |

Conversion of Y-zeolites, having a wide silica/alumina ratio (SAR, 5.2 to 80), into other zeolites were conducted using tetraethylammonium hydroxide (TEA-OH) as organic structure directing agent (OSDA). To investigate the obtained phase selectivity as well as phase transformation, the effect of reaction temperature and times were evaluated. Generally, the transformation of less dense phases into higher dense phases was observed. Zeolites Y having SAR 12 and 30 were also used to examine the effect of alkali metal (Li, Na, K and Cs) hydroxides in the conversion. Obtained results showed that alkali metals also have dominant influence on the phase of obtained zeolite. The results showed that the SSZ-13 (Al/Si =0.11) originated from Y (SAR 30) has better catalytic activity than another one (Al/Si=0.20), prepared from Y with SAR 12. |
