Organic/inorganic coating materials were prepared by using amphiphilic copolymer. Copolymers were prepared by a free radical polymerization of 2-(ethylhexyl)methacrylate, poly(ethylene oxide)methacrylate, and 2-(dimethylamino ethyl)methacrylate in toluene. The reaction mixture was stirred at 70℃ for 5h using azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator. Copolymer was dissolved in n-hexane while the aqueous silica particles were diluted in ethanol. These two mixtures were in the monophasic system, which was induced to the phase separation by adding water. The coating solution could be prepared by mixing amphiphilic copolymer containing silica particles, D4A, acrylate monomers, and initiator in a solvent and drop-casted on iron substrates, and finally photo-cured. The corrosion protection properties of coating depending on the structure of acrylate monomers will be further discussed. |
