In order to increase the sorption capacity of basic dye, Methylene Blue (MB), Corynebacterium glutamicum biomass was chemically treated with succinic anhydride. Modified biomass, regarded as succinated biomass, was examined in batch system. Furthermore, the commercial activated carbons were employed to compare the sorption capacity of MB from aqueous solution. Consequently, the sorption performance of the succinated biomass increased two times compared with raw biomass. Also, the succinated biomass could be reused up to repeated five cycles. |
