Cell surface display is a technique to display peptides or proteins on the surface of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, fungi, or even mammalian cells by appropriately fusing them to surface anchoring motifs. Surface display systems consist of a carrier protein that acts as an anchoring motif, a passenger protein which plays various roles as a target protein and a host strain. Here, we will show cell surface display of cold-adapted -amylase from antarctic Arthrobacter agilis using putative outer membrane protein YiaT as an anchoring motif. Amylase displaying E. coli cells can be a widely used in various biotechnology application fields such as metabolic engineering, biotransformation, and many others. In this presentation, the detailed results will be presented. |
