Various types of fuel cells had been a theme of research and development for their great potential as clean and highly effective power sources. The main routes for the synthesis of nanocluster electrocatalysts can be based on wet impregnation and chemical reduction of a mixture of the metal salt solution. On the other hands, active carbon blacks are used as catalyst supports. In aqueous solutions, carbon particles are hydrophobic and tend to agglomerate due to the hydrophobic attraction. Good dispersion of carbon blacks in the aqueous phase is important as well as good dispersion of catalysts particles. In the present study, a different kinds of surfactants were used to obtain the better dispersion of carbon material in solution by stabilization. The objective of this study was to investigate the surfactant effect on the preparation and electrochemical activities of metallic nanoclusters catalysts. Furthermore, the size and the loading level of catalysts were analyzed. |
