Core-shell structured Fe3O4-carbon composite based anode for the high performance lithium-ion battery |

the need for high performance lithium ion batteries as electrochemical energy storage devices is growing. In this study, we synthesized Iron oxide-carbon tube composite anode materials for high-performance lithium ion battery anode. The structure of Fe3O4 particles was embedded in porous carbon tubes with high conductivity. In order to make the core-shell structure of the carbon tube and Fe3O4 particles, electrospinning was carried out. The improved specific surface area was confirmed by water extraction and SEM images confirmed that a 1-D carbon tube was formed. The results suggest highly stable cycles at 500 mAh/g after 100 cycles. The improved electrochemical performance is attributed to the unique hollow core-shell structure, which offers sufficient voids for alleviating the volume changes of Fe3O4. The promising strategies and associated opportunities here demonstrate great potential in the fabrication of advanced anode materials for high-performance LIB. |
