Recently, anion exchange membranes (AEM) having positively charged groups attached to polymer matrix have been attracting much attention as a key component for electrochemical energy conversion processes such as solid alkaline fuel cells (SAFC) and redox flow batteries (RFB) etc. Although abundant researches on cation exchange membranes have been conducted for the application to polymer electrolyte fuel cells, there is a paucity of study on the development of highly stable and conductive AEM. In this presentation, recent progress in the development of anion-exchangible polymer membranes for SAFC and RFB applications will be introduced. |
