Stimuli-responsive systems have attracted great interest in the field of novel drug delivery, cell encapsulation, and tissue engineering in recent years. Among them, Polymer systems that undergo phase transition in response to environmental stimuli such as temperature and pH have been widely investigated for drug carrier, separation, and diagnostics application. In this work, Amphiphilic polyaspartamide derivatives were prepared by successive aminolysis reaction of PSI using both hydrophobic n-alkylamine and hydrophilic N-isopropylethylenediamin(NIPEDA). At the intermediate composition range, the system showed LCST in water and the transition temperature(pH dependent) could be modulated by changing the alkyl chain length and its graft composition. In addition, sol-gel transition was observed from the concentrated solution. Phase transition temperature, nanoparticle size distribution and zeta-potential of the polyaspartamide derivatives were also determined using a Nano-Zs zetasizer. |
