Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc)/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)/poly aniline (PANi) composite hydrogels were prepared by free-radical polymerization. For improving the electroactive properties, the favorable interactions between PANi and MWCNTs in composites were introduced through the surface modification of MWCNT. MWCNTs were incorporated in order to improve the mechanical properties. Composite hydrogels were investigated by SEM, FT-IR, and UTM. The electrochemical actuator behavior of the composite hydrogels varied depending on the pH. PVA/PAAc/MWCNT/PANi composite hydrogels bent toward the anode in the pHs over 4.7. |
