Despite of a high efficiency of the perovskite solar cells (PSCs) over 22%, the large-area fabrication of PSCs toward commercialization will be another issue receiving growing attention. Due to their easier controllability of morphology and better reproducibility, two-step fabrication has been preferred to apply large-area coating via printing process, rather than one-step. The main obstacles for the traditional two-step process, however, was a slow and incomplete conversion of PbI2 to perovskite. Herein, we proposed a fast and simple process for preparation of a high quality perovskite film suitable for large-area fabrication and mass production. Mediator extraction treatment (MET) resulted in a morphological change in PbI2-DMSO complex film that is completely converted into MAPbI3 film via fast reaction with MAI within several minutes. This MET process was demonstrated in MAPbI3-based PSCs using a slot-die coating to show a comparable performance to that made using spin-coating. |
