제목 Synthesis of Hetero-Telechelic α,ω Functionalized Polymers Utilizing Nucleophiles and Electrophiles
초록 Controlled radical polymerization techniques offer, besides a precise control over molecular weight, the unique possibility to define chain end groups of a polymeric chain. There is still a growing synthetic challenge to produce well-defined narrowly distributed heterotelechelic polymers carrying the same or two different functionalities. Reversible additionfragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization is a very promising method as it allows for an introduction of functional or reactive α end groups via functionalization of the leaving group of the chain transfer agent. RAFT polymerization in combination with two orthogonal end-group functionalization routes, that are, activated pentafluorophenyl ester α end groups, which react with nucleophiles, and modification of the dithioesters using functionalized methane thiosulfonates, which represent sulphur electrophiles, is presented.
