As a result of industrialization, increasing carbon dioxide concentration induced many environmental problems. So development of photocatalyst for reducing carbon dioxide to useful fuel with high efficiency and stability is great issue. Herein, we show artificial photosynthesis for carbon dioxide reduction using carbon coated 3-dimensional copper oxide nanowire mesh structure with bismuth vanadate. Adsorption and mass transport can be improved by 3-dimensional structure of copper oxide nanowire mesh. In addition, high charge separation, transport and high redox potential can be obtained by Z-schematic electron flow between bismuth vanadate and copper oxide and mediation by ultrathin carbon layer. Also, the photostability was enhanced by protecting copper oxide. As a result, this catalyst exhibited significant improvement in CO formation rate and stability than bare catalyst in visible light irradiation. |
