Amphiphilic block copolymers assemble into nanoscopic core-shell structures, micelles, which are of considerable interest for the delivery of hydrophobic anticancer drug. Polymeric micelles are self-assembled above CMC and lose the self-assembled structures below CMC, for example, during the circulation in blood stream. In this study focused on achieving enhanced stability of the micelle assembly and prolonged circulation times for passive targeting of chemotherapeutic agents. We designed stabilized micelles with poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(ε-caprolactone) based copolymer containing thiol groups between two block segments for drug delivery. |
