제목 Oxygen-generating gelatin adhesives for wound management
초록 Tissue adhesive polymeric hydrogels have been widely used for the wound management. It is demonstrated that oxygen plays a crucial role as a signaling molecule in wound healing process. In this study, we report a gelatin-based oxygen-generating adhesive that can form hydrogel via calcium peroxide-mediated crosslinking reaction. We demonstrated that the hydrogels generate oxygen up to 70% pO2 and maintain hyperbaric oxygen level until 7 days. We measured tissue adhesiveness using universal testing machine, and investigated cytocompatibility of the hydrogels using human dermal fibroblasts, resulting in excellent cell viabilities. In conclusion, our results suggest that the oxygen-generating adhesive hydrogels hold a great potential as tissue adhesives for wound management.
