제목 Improving of Mechanical Strength of Hydrophobic Coating by Using Dielectric Barrier Discharge at Atmospheric Pressure
초록 Plasma, also called as “ionized gas” is getting more popular in industrial applications, mainly treatment of material surface. Hydrophobic coating of glass surface creates a great attention for self-cleaning applications but the major anxiety of the coating is that after abrasion/scratching it does not function well. This problem has to solve in order to get a stable long lasting coating. For this study, non-thermal dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma has generated at atmospheric pressure in ambient condition by using two precursors to have long lasting better mechanical strength and as well as good hydrophobic character. Tetramethylsilane (TMS) has used to get good hydrophobicity and (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) has used to promote mechanical strength of the coating although it is hydrophilic in character. An optimal ratio between two precursors were found to get good hydrophobicity and stable mechanical strength.
