Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foams are achieved by introduction the cyclotrimerization of isocyanate groups in polyurethane matrix. In this study, the effects of additive on the thermal conductivity and cell size of PIR foams were investigated. PIR foams were prepared from polyether polyol, polyester polyol, polymeric 4,4’-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, silicone surfactant, catalysts, flame retardant, distilled water and cyclopentane as blowing agents. In order to find the effect of additive, three different additives were used. Properties of the PUFs were obtained by thermal conductivity analyzer, scanning electron microscopy and universal testing machine. From the results, when the additives were added, the cell size and thermal conductivity of the PIR foams were decreased. |
