Novel electrochromic system based on the monodispersed microspheres having viologen pendant onto the surface |
초록 |
Novel electrochromic system was prepared by using the polymer particles modified with 1-heptyl-4-(4-pyridyl)-pyridinium(1-HV). Monodisperse, linear polystyrene(PS) seed particles were prepared by using dispersion polymerization. And then, two-step swelling seeded polymerization was employed to produce chloro functionalized microspheres by swelling a proper second monomer mixture into the seed particles. The chloro groups on the microspheres were then modified with 1-HV through the refluxing in organic solvent for 4hr. Tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate(Bu4NBF4)/γ-Butyrolacton electrolyte was used to the electrochr omic display device. The colour of display device was changed from pale yellow to violet. Morphologies of microsphere were observed by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. Chloro functional group and viologen pendent on the particles were confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and FT-IR, respectively. |
