Characterization and Improved Dissolution on Solid Dispersions of Domperidone Maleate |

Domperidone is an antidopaminergic drug. Clinically, domperidone is widely utilized to treat gastrointestinal disease such as chronic gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease of adults and infantile cyclic vomiting syndrome and repiratory tract infection. The goal is to improve the dissolution rate of domperidone maleate. Solid dispersions were prepared by spray-drying method with polymer. All solid dispersions were analyzed by SEM, FT-IR, XRD and DSC. In vitro dissolution behavior of solid dispersions was carried out in gastric juice (pH 1.2) and these results were compared with model drug. The dissolution rate of all solid dispersions was improved due to influence of polymers. This study suggests that the content of polymers added in solid dispersions can affect the dissolution behavior and change dissolution rate of drug. This research was supported by WCU (R31-20029). |
