Polyethers, such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), are widely used materials in commercially established fields such as drug-delivery, control of biocompatibility. Also PEG is becoming increasingly important in emerging technologies such as dye-sensitized solar cells, and lithium-polymer batteries. But the problem with all PEG-based systems is the lack of functional handles along the polymer backbone which limits the modification and tunability of this valuable materials platform. As a functional alternative to PEG in some applications, poly(allyl glycidyl ether) has been examined due to its inherent chemical flexibility stemming from the pendant allyl groups. In this study we are prepared poly(allyl glycidyl ether) use by double metal cyanide catalyst. Double metal cyanide (DMC) complexes base upon Zn3[Co(CN)6]2 framework are well-known catalyst for ring-opening polymerization. |
