Ring-opening polymerization of propylene oxide by double metal cyanidecatalysts prepared with tartarates as complexing agent |
초록 |
Double metal cyanide (DMC) complexes are well-known catalysts for the polymerization of alkylene oxides. DMC catalysts produce polyalkylene ether polyols which exhibit higher molecular weights, higher hydroxyl functionality and lower unsaturation at the desired levels than polyalkylene ether polyols produced by the use of conventional alkaline catalysts. Polymerization of propylene oxide has been carried out by new DMC catalyst prepared by reacting ZnCl2 and K3[Co(CN)6]2 in the presence of tartrate series as a main complexing agent and poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(propylene glycol)-b-poly(ethylene glycol) as a co-complexing agent. The yielded polymers are analyzed by 13C NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. The unsaturation level and OH value of the polymers were also determined by titration. |
