Fabrication and Characterization of LSM-Ag and LSCF-Ag Composite Cathodes for IT SOFC |

Using electroless deposition technique LSM-Ag and LSCF-Ag composite cathodes were synthesized for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC). LSM and LSCF powders were coated with silver particles in an electroless bath. Bar type samples were prepared using these coated powders by uniaxial press. These samples were annealed at 800ºC for different times. The scanning electron microscopy observation indicated that the average particle size of Ag was less than 100 nm in annealed bulk body. The shape of these particles was rectangular type with increased surface area. The electrical conductivity of these cathodes was also evaluated. |
