제목 Electromagnetic Interference Shielding of Polymer Composites Reinforced with Metal-Coated Carbon Fibers
초록 Nickel(Ni)- and copper(Cu)-coated carbon fibers(CF) have been incorporated into the polypropylene(PP) and polyamide 6(PA6) matrix to impart the electrical conductivity and electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding. The compounds containing 10~40 wt% CF have been prepared using twin screw extruder. Effect of filler content on mechanical and electrical properties of the composites has been investigated. At the same filler content, the composites filled with Ni-coated CF showed the better performances compared to those reinforced with Cu-coated CF. Tensile strength, flexural modulus, and impact strength also increased with increasing filler loading. The EMI SE value of the PP/Ni-coated CF composites exhibited more than 60dB in the frequency range of 1.0GHz~1.5GHz when the filler concentration was about 20wt%. Enhanced shielding effectiveness of the composites may be closely associated with high electrical conductivity and permittivity of the composites.
