The organic-inorganic hybrid adsorbents, such as amine-functionalized silica, have emerged as advantaged candidate materials for post-combustion CO2 capture due to their high CO2 capacity and selectivity. The studies on these adsorbents have often focused on the number of nitrogen atoms (mono-, di-, triamines) and the degree of alkyl substitution (primary, secondary, tertiary). Here, linear diaminosilanes were incorporated to silica via grafting and in-situ synthesis. The CO2 adsorption capacity and stability of the adsorbents were evaluated using TGA and FT-IR. Further characterization was completed through elemental analysis and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms. |
