Highly-CO2-capturing membrane composed of hybrid between the poly(styrene-block-butadiene-block-styrene)-graft-poly(oxyethylene methacrylate) (SBS-g-POEM) block-graft copolymer and the ionic liquid (IL) 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide (EMIMDCA) is prepared. TEM and SAXS revealed well-defined nanostructures of separated microphase. The CO2 permeability of neat pristine SBS membrane was 372 Barrer (1 Barrer = 10-10 cm3 (STP)·cm/(cm2·s·cmHg) and CO2/N2 selectivity was 16.4. After grafting, CO2 permeability of SBS-g-POEM was increased to 407 Barrer as selectivity reached 21.6. CO2-philic segment, POEM, has attributed to high performance of SBS-g-POEM. Introduction of EMIMDCA into SBS-g-POEM increased CO2 permeability about 25% with similar selectivity whereas hybrid of neat SBS and EMIMDCA had shown poor gas separation property. |
