VOCs has attracted great attention due to toxic effects on environment and health. Thus, the regulations of VOCs emission were established and VOCs removal also became important. Many adsorbents were used for VOCs removal but many adsorbents have some problems in flammability and water adsorption. We prepared SBA-15, the mesoporous silica material has thick wall, large pore volume, large surface area, stability of fire and possibility of modification, using a triblock copolymer as a template and tetraethyl orthosilicate as a silica source by sol-gel method. Then, we modified SBA-15 with the aniline derivative to get hydrophobicity and affinity to VOCs. This modification helps the adsorbent adsorb VOCs not water. Compared with pure SBA-15, aniline-modified SBA-15 show good VOCs adsorbability. Aniline-modified SBA-15 was characterized by FT-IR spectra, X-ray diffraction(XRD), N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm, thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and dynamic vapor sorption(DVS). |
